Project Development

Our broad experience of the wider projects market gives us access to current best practices and an understanding of evolving trends in the infrastructure, energy and renewables sectors. With our international footprint we are well positioned to respond rapidly to our clients with respect to projects in both developed and developing countries, whatever the size of the transaction.

Typically, the projects on which we are involved are complex and involve dealing proficiently with the interests of numerous parties, including those directly involved in a project as well as other third parties such as government authorities and local communities. We frequently innovate, negotiate and draft detailed solutions with regard to the structural business, regulatory strategy, construction and operational aspects of a project. We not only have in-depth knowledge of the various industry sectors in which our clients are engaged but key principals in our practice have hands-on experience in starting energy development companies and have themselves developed successful energy projects prior to joining SNR Denton.

We assist our clients in the delivery of high value infrastructure. We advise on the full range of issues involved in the development of a project. We provide in-depth advice on planning, permitting, procurement, partnership structures, site option and control documentation, project financing, supply and delivery contracts, design-related issues, consequences of delay or underperformance and allocation of risk.

Our role also involves securing negotiated solutions which take full account of the impact of all relevant renewable energy regulatory regimes including, for example, Renewables Obligations Certificates and feed-in tariffs, Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) also known as Green tags, Renewable Energy Credits, Renewable Electricity Certificates or Tradable Renewable Certificates (TRCs), and Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (SREC’s). In the course of our work with clients, we also routinely advise on the impacts of sustainable design and construction upon their projects, together with related performance and compliance matters on projects in a variety of business sectors, from Energy to Commercial, Office, Warehouse, Distribution, Manufacturing, Corporate Headquarters, and R&D Facilities.

We work closely with project managers, investors, technical advisors, installers and designers. We collaborate closely on project finance matters which often require complex and interlocking contractual structures.
