PPP
Public Private Partnerships (PPPs or P3) have
been a key procurement tool for large and complex projects across a
range of sectors including roads, accommodation, health, education,
rail and waste.
The PPP model has various levels of
sophistication, and the most mature adopter has been the UK, which
has been at the forefront of PPP since it started in the mid 1990s.
Since then, use of the model has spread to areas including in
Europe, Africa and North America.
The global economic downturn has had a major
impact on the PPP market, particularly due to the budgeting
constraints of procuring authorities and the availability and cost
of private finance. Challenging times still lie ahead, but new PPP
models, or variants of them, are expected to continue to play a key
role in infrastructure procurement and investment globally.
To date, SNR Denton has closed more than 200 PPP/PFI projects in
the UK alone. We are increasingly active across a range of
sectors, working on PPP-based projects in regions as diverse
Turkey, the Middle East, Egypt, Europe, Africa, as well as the
UK.
