Fruman Jacobson
Chief Administrative Officer - Paris
Fruman Jacobson, a US partner, is a member of
the firm’s Corporate Reorganization and Bankruptcy practice and a
co-chair of the firm’s Credit Markets and Subprime Lending Task
Force. He also serves as the Chief Administrative Officer of
the Paris office.
He has extensive experience representing
public and private creditors, debtors, creditors’ committees,
prominent workout consultants/crisis managers, trustees and other
parties in connection with troubled companies and bankruptcy
estates.
Further, Fruman has substantial experience in
handling bankruptcy litigation and related litigation (including
foreclosure, fraud, lender liability, and insurance coverage
matters) in state and federal courts.
In addition to handling legal aspects of
troubled companies, Fruman is highly experienced in counseling
clients on related business issues such as restructurings,
recapitalizations and changes in management.
Fruman has handled significant matters in many
industries including real estate, syndications, retail,
manufacturing, high-tech, service and others.
He is experienced in complex real estate
restructurings (REIT; large syndicator of luxury properties
nationwide) and bankruptcies of sub-prime lenders.
In the United Airlines case, the largest
airline bankruptcy ever filed, he co-headed the SNR Denton team of
experts who achieved unparalleled results for the unsecured
creditors in airline reorganizations.
Fruman lectures frequently on bankruptcy and
insolvency issues to private groups and organizations including the
Practicing Law Institute and various bar associations.
He has been named one of the sixty-eight
leading restructuring, reorganization, insolvency and bankruptcy
lawyers in the country.
In addition to his experience in the area of
workouts and bankruptcy, Fruman has a significant background in
general litigation and has taught trial advocacy for the Midwest
Region of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy for a number of
years.
He is also a regular contributor to various
publications.
