Juan Carlos Iturregui
Senior Advisor
Juan Carlos Iturregui specializes in business, regulatory, and
public policy issues in the Americas.
He works closely with decision makers on Capitol Hill and the
Executive Branch and in various Latin American countries to promote
business initiatives, investments, closer hemispheric links and
public/private sector partnerships.
Juan Carlos is a former member of the President’s Export
Council (PEC), the nation’s top advisory panel on international
trade and overseas markets.
He also focuses on project development and infrastructure
investments in the Caribbean and Latin America.
Previously, he was Senior Director of Governmental Affairs at
two international law firms, where he assisted his colleagues in
establishing full service governmental relations and Latin American
practices.
Juan Carlos has an expertise in several practice areas focusing,
most particularly, on initiatives and projects in the trade, tax,
finance and infrastructure development sectors, with an emphasis on
renewable energy.
His public policy experience stems from serving as Legislative
Counsel in the US House of Representatives and as Managing Attorney
for a nonprofit legal services corporation created by the US
Conference of Catholic Bishops in 1988.
In 1987, after a competitive nationwide search, the
Congressional Hispanic Caucus institute selected Juan Carlos as one
of 12 promising college graduates to participate in the first-ever
Latino Leaders Opportunity Fellowship. That year, he served in the
office of the Chairman and in the White House Office of Public
Liaison.
Juan Carlos is fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
