PPP Participants
Since starting in the UK in the mid-1990s,
Public Private Partnerships (PPPs/P3) have been a key procurement
tool for large and complex projects such as roads, accommodation
(including social housing), health, education, rail, custodial,
defense, waste and regeneration projects. In the last 15
years, PPPs have blossomed and are widely used internationally.
The global economic downturn had a major
impact on the PPP market, particularly from the budgeting
constraints of public procurement authorities and the limited
availability and high cost of private finance. Challenging
times still lie ahead, but new PPP models (or variants of them) are
expected to continue to play a key role in infrastructure
procurement and investment globally.
SNR Denton is a pioneer in the PPP market,
having closed more than 200 PPP/PFI projects in the UK alone. We
have been involved in the PFI/PPP market from the beginning and
helped develop and spearhead policy on a number of groundbreaking
projects, including roads, courts and custodial centers.
Our PPP/PFI practice has a diverse client
base, a broad range of in-depth sector experience and a significant
international dimension. We have a track record in complex and
innovative transactions’ notable depth of resources, and
significant knowledge of both government and PPP
processes.
We frequently act for government sponsors,
private sector sponsors and funders, so we are very aware of the
commercial issues and pressures faced by all sides and
specialize in offering innovative solutions to our clients’
challenges.
