Pro Bono
SNR Denton is committed to using our legal
talent and resources to improve the lives of those around us.
Our aim is to serve the public interest and help those who
otherwise lack the means to seek quality legal assistance
that ensures access to justice.
Our varied pro bono work includes
representing death-row inmates in challenging their convictions
and/or sentences, serving legal clinics in inner cities, working on
civil rights and asylum matters, advocating and litigating on
behalf of people with disabilities, veterans, survivors of domestic
violence, and children and families seeking adequate health
care. We also provide substantial assistance to community
organizations and far-reaching educational initiatives aimed at
improving opportunities for children.
Our lawyers have been recognized with
numerous awards for outstanding commitment to pro bono work,
including the Law Firm Pro Bono Award from Public Counsel, the
largest public interest pro bono law firm in the world, the
Commitment to Justice Award from inMotion and the City of London's
Heart of the City award. The American Lawyer
recognized the firm’s longtime commitment to pro bono and public
service by awarding a 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award
to former Managing Partner Errol Stone.
We are committed to our work for groups such
as Human Rights Watch, PopLaw, Outward Bound Oman, UNICEF, City
Gateway, the Campaign for Female Education, the Nature Conservancy,
the National Immigrant Justice Center, the International HIV/AIDS
Alliance and many others.
SNR Denton has long been committed to
increasing the delivery of free legal advice to individuals and
communities in need. We provide our pro bono clients with the
same standards of professionalism and care, resources and
engagement level that we offer to all our paying clients. We
encourage our lawyers to become involved in pro bono work, which
furthers our commitment to public service, adds value to the legal
profession and is personally meaningful and rewarding.
